The International Conference on Nation Branding 2011 was held on August 25 at COEX Conference & Exhibition Center. It was very impressive to hear the speech on the importance of nation branding and the improvement strategy related to national image branding, as well as to see the exhibition on the Korean Wave. In particular, the well-prepared exhibition and special events to improve the awareness of K-POP has garnered much attention of visitors.

Above all, the special event, held at COEX Hall A, definitely heated up the hearts of visitors to the conference because of its amazing guests: F(x), one of the key players leading the K-POP fever, and Arirang Party, a fusion troupe combining percussion, Korean traditional dance, taekwondo, B-boy and drum.
The fine fusion performance of Arirang Party commanded attention from the audience there by displaying attractive Korean traditional dance moves, fantastically accompanied with passionate western drumming.

Arirang Party, known for a preserver of Korean traditional culture, has attracted a large number of calls expressing interest from across the world. The smart introduction of western cultural activities including B-boy dance and drumming into Korean traditional culture resulted in the exquisite balance, beating the hearts of the audience.
Today’s young people tend to neglect Korean tradition, largely absorbed into western culture. That’s why the performance of Arirang Party left a deep impression by sublimating the two cultural trends into the exquisite art of esthetic value. The audience gave a lavish praise to the troupe, expecting to bring great honor to Korea by showing off the beauty of Korea’s traditional culture on global stages.
When Arirang Party’s performance was over, F(x) appeared on the stage. As soon as the five members got on the stage, the audience greeted them with acclamations. After a short greeting, they started singing “Pinocchio.” Among the members, Sulli attracted most attention partly because of her height. Krystal, known for her excellent taste in fashion, made an impressive scene thanks to her unique leopard-patterned pants. In addition, Amber and Luna gave full play to their dancing abilities, which made the performance with “Pinocchio” exceeidngly energetic and powerful, even though it was onducted only with the five members without any backup dancer.
After completing their first performance with “Pinocchio,” F(X) expressed their feelings that they feel honored to stand on stage to celebrate the conference. Then, their second song “Hot Summer” started. The latest hit song aroused the audience to enthusiasm. In particular, the atmosphere was highly elated as the song neared to its climax. Thanks to the easy-to-follow dance moves, it was easy to spot people who follow the dance to the song.
Their performance lasted only for ten minutes, but only the two songs “Pinocchio” and “Hot Summer” were enough to drive the audience completely mesmerized.
